The Civil Remedies Act CPD @ King Law Chambers (Banff Room)
Sep 21 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

On Wednesday, September 21, 2016, King Law Chambers is pleased to host a presentation on Civil Remedies, which qualifies for CPD credit.

VKLaw_Logo_OrangeAlex Van Kralingen
and Mark Repath of van kralingen law will discuss the law surrounding the Civil Remedies Act, 2001 (the “Act”), with a particular focus on best practices for responding to preservation and forfeiture applications under the Act

The presentation is intended to speak to both criminal practitioners, who may encounter these issues in connection with their clients, as well as civil litigators who may not have good familiarity with the Act and its associated jurisprudence. To that end, there will be a discussion of the purpose of the Act, case law under the Act relating to return of property, tactical considerations for those who are resisting preservation and forfeiture applications, and finally, a primer on the relevant Rules of Civil Procedure – particularly useful for both criminal lawyers and newer civil litigators.

Please confirm your attendance on or before September 14, 2016, by emailing events@kinglawchambers.com, with confirmation you will attend as well as any dietary restrictions.
